Note that the water riles are hexagons, well most of them, hexagons. So see I am growing as an artist. Making the fish's grout turquoise didn't turn out as swell as i thought it would. Well maybe I will think of something.
Hmm.... your background looks like pebbles. I wonder if that's part of the reason I'm seeing a bird or turtle head instead of a fish. What's not "swell" about the grout? I think the turquoise blends the inner tiles a bit, and makes the orange outline tiles stand out. Are you finished? Or are you going to do more with the background?
Something about the pink around the eye makes me think of a reptile. I like it; I'll have to scroll through earlier entries to see how it looks with the other breams.
I love the turquoise grout. It and the water are a nice contrast with the orange. Makes it pop. Like the pink too. You always go on about the shapes, when these paintings are all about the color.
Interesting. I think this has morphed into another creature, but it doesn't really matter, it's about the painting. And as a painting, it's powerful in terms of movement, color, shape, value...
I also see some parallelograms.

ReplyDeleteOh the shapes always come first, then the color. The shapes are where the colors go. Why I like working with mosaics.
