The first study is either my salvation, or my vice and eventual downfall: Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur. A big splash into my morning coffee is a good start to the day!
The second will be more detailed than a quick study. It's Mr. Clown, a favorite puppet when my boys were little. Mr. Clown is becoming a favorite in videochats with my grandson too!

These are both so cool. The colors in that liqueur bottle are so deep and rich—I can actually taste the contents and feel the texture just by looking. And that clown is going to be incredible. He feels so warm and friendly (and this is from someone who is a bit creeped out by clowns) and the way you handle the textures is brilliant. We can feel what it's made of. If the liqueur is what's getting you through these times, it's working! If it inspires paintings like these, I'm putting it down on my shopping list.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite the combo, Elaine. You've really got the chocolate color to a "T" mmmm. And the clown conveys nothing but cuteness even if he is a clown. Luv the hair.
ReplyDeleteNice work on the bottle! Like Elaine says, I can taste the chocolate from your colors! And the clown is definitely creepy but the hair is fabulous! ( Even Bozo and Ronald McDonald are creepy to me.) yes, interesting subjects but nicely painted.
ReplyDeleteYar, it looks like the Liqueur is flowing with the swirls in the bottle, over the lid and into the kid. I don't see anything creepy in the clown, I'm sorry, Mister Clown, it looks like he is just hanging waiting to be dragged by the arm into Kiddieland
