These are all 5x7 and I will be cranking them out until school begins. The first ones are repeats
1 - The Caterpillar
2 - The Blade of Grass
3 - The Enchanted Forest
4 - The Creature from the Black Lagoon
5 - Mystery Train
6 - The Atom Smasher
7 - The Hood Ornament
8 - Broadway Boogie Woogie
9 - Godzilla vs King Kong
10 - The Valley of Moreau

Not a fan of the first five, but I like the second five. You really have to look at them separately and big to appreciate them. #8 and 9 are probably my two favorites. But can you achieve this on a bigger scale? It’s easier fill a 5x7, but what about 9x12? Or 18x24? Go back to your roots — go big!
ReplyDeleteNot even the Creature from the Black Lagoon? I like them for now. I always run out of Yupo before I run out of ideas. And bigger is better, but more is better still.
DeleteThe repeats seem clearer and crisper on today's post and I think I like that better. Anyway, I still prefer the newer ones; I think they have more balance rather than just equal values and density of paint over the whole canvas. #6 and #8 are probably my top two. I have to wonder about the titles—are you channeling Elaine T.? I feel I'm in an episode of Svengoolie.
ReplyDeleteThe titles are pretty arbitrary, except for the Creature from the Black Lagoon of course.
DeleteI especially like the texture of #6 and the composition. And I just like the Valley. Maybe because of the movement of paint and color.
