Alan is not waiting for spring

My friend has an exotic lily pond in his garden and occasionally sends me interesting photographs of some flowers and I paint them. These are on Yupo.

A lot of opera and a lot of Yupo techniques.

This is a quick study of a church built from fieldstone in Michigan. It was a soothing experiment just picking out shapes and colors. I may do a more formal version later since it was a little more fun than I thought.

  1. Always glad to see Alan pulling out the yupo again. I like the second one better. Too much opera and you just take it for granted, just a little bit and it begins to shine, and I always like it when the background competes with foreground in interest.

Aren't bricks (tiles) fun. At first you think Geez do I gotta fill in all those ittuy bitty things, but as you start doing it, well it just draws you in.

  2. Glad to see you back to Yupo. I really like the middle one. There's movement and focus, yet it's all interesting. Is the fieldstone church that colorful in real life? No matter, I like your take on it and agree that you should do a full painting.
