September 13, 2025 — Elaine O.

I realized I hadn't done people in a while; so, being between paintings, I opened my sketchbook and did a quick direct watercolor sketch of the newest baby in the family.

And I finished and waxed my Sunday morning waffle memento. I'm done with the painting, not the wafflemaker. I can definitely see more waffle experiments ahead—and maybe some of them will be worthy of a painting.

  1. No offense to the kid, but he looks like Mussolini making a point in the midst of a fiery speech. Nice use of white, like El Greco.

  2. Love everything about the waffle painting except that I can’t eat it. It’s funny how much a baby looks like a little old man.

  3. You know we all luv the old man/newborn baby painting that you've done. And without any drawing at all! Pair that with the results from your new waffle maker and man, you've got the greatest hits going. What a perfect painting and so tiny too.
