Some weeks, I can do five paintings in between classes but not this week, only class work from last week and this week. A lot of paint on both of these, but I like depth in colors and the mixing of colors. That tree could use a little more work to make it look less flat, more 3d….
I really like both of these. I kinda like the tree but you can usually spend more time on one. Depends on how realistic you want to make it.
ReplyDeleteBoth are just saturated with color. yum. And painted completely different. The eggplants could be in a meditation room, they have such a relaxed and and flowing feel with a yin/yang kind of center. And the outdoor scene is vibrant, shimmering with the movement of life (and death). shoo-wee.
ReplyDeleteThe eggplants look good in every way, but I miss that very prominent golden ray of sunshine from the photo, and I admire your effrontery in painting the the left and right parts of the tree in different tones.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are magnificent. Those eggplants look so rich, and it's more than a painting of some produce—you've caught that end-of-summer feeling with the lighting. The cemetery is looking great, too. The junk car has been resolved beautifully; the colors are amazing, and I think the only thing you have to do to the tree is define a few more delicate branches on the left and fade/taper a few of the branches on the right.
