September 7, 2013

It's September already, which means back to school—and we couldn't be more excited! It was great to catch up with each other again. Greeta and Alan were back with paintings of summer fruits and drinks; a simple farmer's market buy inspired David's entire landscape; Susan and Vivian documented LA vacations, Steve and Elaine did the same for Hawaii and London. We pick up John's story in a new place and our newbie is already proficient in landscapes and portraits. In a surprising development, Ken came back with a new hat and a whole new direction—landscapes!

Poor Sara missed today's fun with a summer cold—aren't they the worst? But we're all hoping to see her (and you) next week when the ever-popular Johannah Silva will be with us from Winsor & Newton. Always a good time—and educational to boot! As if that weren't enough, Pat has two new painting challenges for us. More about that later, but for now, here are our paintings. Well worth the wait, don't you think?

Stop by next week to learn more about Pat's art opening and our further adventures with watercolor. We'll let you know about the two new challenges, too, and see if anyone accepts.

Meanwhile, it's not too late to suport Steve in the Out of the Darkness Community Walk.

The walk takes place near the end of October to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. If you can't walk, consider a 100% tax deductible donation. You can donate online in several ways:
  • Just click here: Support Steve!
  • If you want to take the scenic route, go to www.outofthedarkness.org Find the fund raising page by entering "Steve Meyer" in the search box or get to the team page by entering "Ed O'Brien's Crew Members"
  • If you have any questions about the Out of the Darkness Community Walks or AFSP, visit www.afsp.org
Happy painting!
