While I like the texture you get on Yupo, I have to agree that this one's gone a step too far. I liked the last iteration where the top of the haystack was looser and more "straw-like" and the bottom was more linear. I guess what I'm trying to say is that texture is all well and good, but different surfaces need different textures. I still love the way the sun illuminates the one side of the haystack and the way it peeks out at the bottom. Did you change the sky?
But art's not all or only about texture. Well, this turned out to be, but as you said, it got to be too much of a good (?) thing at the end. It seems like sleepwalking through a painting. Although the sky and sun looks interesting before it all melts to dit dit dit.
