April 21, 2012

The springtime floral extravaganza continues, although the weather is slightly less cooperative today! It's a bit nippy, but sunny, so we're still happy. Just look at the brilliant colors and see how happy we are.

And, while you're at it, see if you can spot the one (okay, two—there's a hint for you!) painting that doesn't go with the others. Need another hint? It's the wrong season. Okay...only one more hint. It's ice painting. That's it—no more hints!

But we do have a big surprise.

Going forward, you'll find it even easier to spot our hidden treasures. Ever since our humble beginnings (when we emphasized the experience of sitting in our circle), we've been changing to make it more and more about the art. So, continuing on our trajectory and based on your comments, we're enlarging the paintings so you can see them even more clearly than ever. We realize this makes all the paintings seem to be the same size, but you can watch the video to get a sense of relative size. Or you can ask us anything and we'll be glad to respond.

One more thing! If you've been keeping up on current affairs, you'll notice that our old friend, the cochineal beetle is in the news this week. Seems Starbucks will no longer be using carmine coloring made from the cochineal beetle for their strawberry drinks. Strange phenomenon—three weeks ago, we didn't know what a cochineal beetle was. Now we're seeing them everywhere! If you want to learn more about them, or see a painting with cochineal beetles, go back and read our March 24 post.

For now, enjoy!
