November 12, 2011

It's another beautiful fall day, and we all seemed drawn to painting fall scenery (even if some of it was urban fall scenery!). But the overarching theme seemed to be "plaid." We had great watercolor plaids by our talented newbies--they all started from the same place and everyone's paintings were unique and lovely. Even our teacher wore plaid--a plaid that combined the colors of fall leaves and a handcrafted touch. Look here to see her plaid pants! Then scroll down and see our paintings.

Finally, we have something to look forward to next week--a return of last year's popular "Swap-o-rama." We all bring an art supply (or two) that we're not using or that doesn't seem to work for us. Everything goes on a giant table and everyone takes something. It's a great chance to learn and try new materials. And how timely--as we're moving into the holiday season, this is definitely something to give thanks for!
