April 30, 2011

It's a lovely sunny day and we think spring is finally here! We had a small but lively group, including a guest artist! She did a lovely piece in colored pencil. Can you spot it? Other things to watch out for: Jim did his first ever watercolor. Can you see it? Can you guess what the big current event of the week was? Can you guess who just got back from Hawaii? It's fun to get to know us better, isn't it?

See you at Artropolis--or back here next week!

April 16, 2011

Once again, we have video! Only this time, it's a good news/bad news kind of thing. The good news is that we have video. The bad news is that we only have partial video. Our theory is that our videographer's finger must have mistaken the "off" button for the "zoom" button. The alternative (that some paintings just didn't make the cut) is inconceivable! So here are the combined video bits that exist, along with stills of all of our paintings.

While we're at it, we'd like your opinion on something. This video contains both our bouncy theme music and our clever commentary. What do you think? Just the music? Just the voices? Both? Neither? Weigh in. We want you to be happy!

We'll be off next week, and we look forward to seeing you again on April 30. We'll have all new paintings for your spring viewing pleasure!

PS--Here's the link to the NPR radio program about the creative process Pat mentioned in class today: Me, Myself, and Muse.

UPDATE April 11, 2011. We have video. Enjoy!

We're trying the "video-circle/closer-look-at-the-art" style again. This time, we're determined to make it work. Keep checking back--sooner or later our circle will be here. At any rate, check out the art below. There are some really fine paintings today (if we do say so ourselves)!

It's April! Spring is here and we're starting a new term. It was great fun catching up after two whole weeks apart. Steve's concert was incredible. Marge's show was a huge success. The sun even came out for Showtime--can't get much better than that.
